Stormy weather and astronomical tides brought coastal flooding to parts of Portland, Maine on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Look at this video from the area to show the major flooding this storm caused.

Flooding from the storm washed away fishing shacks on the Maine coast.

In a Facebook post from the City of Portland, fishing shacks at Willard Beach are destroyed because of the storm.

The area is still recovering from severe weather earlier in the week that brought high winds and heavy rain.

Saturday’s storm system was part of a powerful winter storm that brought heavy snow and high winds from the Midwest to the Northeast.

Coastal flooding from astronomical tides also broke records.

The National Weather Service said that water levels hit a record of 14.57 feet MLLW (mean lower low water). The past record was 14.17 feet MLLW on Feb. 7, 1978.

It will take time to recover from all the storm damage over the last few days.
