A Harpswell man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a fatal crash in Brunswick in December, police said.
Dispatchers were alerted to the crash shortly before 11 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2024, at the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Baribeau Drive, according to Brunswick police.
Jeremy Saxton, 45, of Harpswell was driving a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Pleasant Hill Road when Donald Harding, 75, of Yarmouth, driving a 2013 Ford Edge on Baribeau Drive, pulled into the path of Saxton, according to police.
Harding died of his injuries at the scene in the ensuing crash, according to police. Saxton was uninjured. Both were wearing seatbelts.
After an investigation, Saxton was indicted for manslaughter, aggravated driving to endanger, aggravated criminal mischief and criminal speeding – driving more than 30 mph over the speed limit, according to police.
Saxton was arrested in Harpswell on April 12 on the grand jury warrant. He was transported to Cumberland County Jail where he posted a $10,000 bond.
