Two people are dead in Minot as the result of a murder-sucide, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Deputies found two bodies during a welfare check shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday at 425 Millett Road, department spokesperson Shannon Moss stated in a news release.

The office of chief medical examiner ruled the death of Emali Sallee, 19, of Lewiston, a homicide, according to the release.

Tyson Peters, 20, of Minot was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the release states.

“Sallee and Peters were in a relationship at the time,” Moss stated in the release. “This incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.”

Officials are not releasing further information.
