President Joe Biden will be in Maine Friday to talk about how his economic policies are creating more manufacturing jobs, according to the White House press office.
“The President will discuss how Bidenomics is driving a manufacturing boom and helping workers and innovators invent and make more in America,” according to the schedule.
No other details about the visit — such as where and when the event will take place — have been released.
In a July 6 speech at a South Carolina manufacturing company, Biden described “Bidenomics,” saying over 13 million new jobs have been created since he took office in 2021, “more jobs than any president has ever created in their first two years.”
That includes nearly 800,000 manufacturing jobs.
“Bidenomics is just another way of saying ‘restoring the American Dream,’” he said.
Last week in Maine, Gov. Janet Mills and other elected officials gathered in Madison to attend an opening ceremony for TimberHP, a wood-fiber insulation plant. The company took over a newly renovated mill in Madison and employs nearly 70 people, with plans to expand to 140 in the next three years.
Biden, a Democrat, is running for reelection next year. His Republican opponent has yet to be determined, but former President Donald Trump is currently leading the crowded field.
