The number of influenza cases in Maine remains low with fewer than a dozen positive cases so far this season, according to data from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. 

The latest data, which covers the week ending Oct. 26, 2024, showed no deaths and hospitalizations from the disease, with one positive test for Influenza. 

There have been only 11 positive tests so far this season. MaineCDC’s trending graphs show the overall number of cases remaining at a standstill. That’s a little below the approximately five hospitalizations recorded at this time last year. 

The data for outpatient cases of the disease also remains low. The week of Oct. 26 shows less than one percent of outpatient cases were related to influenza. The report shows the peak of the disease last year reached about 3%.
