Ogunquit’s Marginal Way reopened Friday after the popular oceanside walk was damaged by storms in January.

“The emergency repairs have been completed thanks to the hard work of our (public works) crew,” the town posted on its Facebook page. “Thanks everyone for your patience!”

The mile-long walk closed Jan. 11 following a powerful coastal storm that caused millions in damage up and down the Maine coast.

John Phinney, board chairman of Marginal Way Preservation Fund, said 400,000 to 500,000 people walk the path each year.

The fund’s mission is to create an endowment to support ongoing needs of the Marginal Way.
