Police said a group of neo-Nazis rallying in Portland over the weekend drew some unwelcome attention, but no one was hurt or arrested.

The group, of up to 30 people, called themselves the “Nationalist Social Club,” according to police. They held a rally that moved through the Old Port, Monument Square and in front of City Hall on Saturday.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the Nationalist Social Club, also known as the 131 Crew, is “a neo-Nazi group with small chapters based in the New England region.” The site describes the group as promoting racism and antisemitism.

“NSC-131 members see themselves as soldiers at war with a hostile, Jewish-controlled system that is deliberately plotting the extinction of the white race,” the league wrote.

Police said the rally prompted protest, but nothing got out of hand.

“The group was confronted several times throughout their march through the area by individuals with opposing views,” police said in a statement. “Some minor skirmishes broke out, but there were no official complaints filed with the Portland Police Department and no reports of any serious injuries. Police monitored the event throughout and no arrests were made.”
