Maine State Police have released the identity of the man killed in Rangeley Tuesday morning when a bucket truck struck overhead wires.
Danila Belov, 24, of Brooklyn, New York, was in a bucket lift attached to a 2012 Ford Econoline van that was in motion on Main Street Tuesday, police said.
Belov fell from the bucket after it struck overhanging wires. Police said paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. and led to the street being closed until 4 p.m.
The van’s driver has been identified as 31-year-old Anton Natachiev of Brooklyn, New York. Natachiev and Belov worked as subcontractors for Consolidated Communications, an internet service provider and telecommunications company.
Police and the Maine Department of Labor are investigating the incident.
