Two days after a powerful storm knocked out power to thousands, crews across Maine are continuing to work to get the lights back on.
Versant Power, which serves northern and eastern Maine, reported 523 customers were still without power Friday morning. High winds that brought down trees and limbs are to blame, Tina Morrill, communications specialist, said via email.
“Our crews along with contract crews have been working diligently across our service territory to make repairs, mainly along the coast in Washington and Hancock County where we saw the most outages,” she said. “Anticipated restoration time is by 4 p.m. today.”
Versant serves 165,486 customers, while Central Maine Power serves nearly 667,000.
Central Maine Power reported 269 outages as of Friday morning.
