Several streets in downtown Portland will be closed to traffic starting at 3 p.m. Wednesday and continuing through Friday afternoon due to the National Governors Association meeting taking place.

Dozens of governors from across the country are expected to attend the summer meeting of the association, with much of the activity taking place at the Holiday Inn by the Bay on Spring Street.

The street closures are as follows: 

  • 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Commercial Street between Pearl Street and Franklin Street will be closed to vehicles
  • 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Fore/Hancock, India/Thames and Fore/Freedom Way will be closed to traffic
  • 5 a.m. Thursday to 3 p.m. Friday, Spring Street will be closed to through traffic, as will Oak Street between Free Street and Spring Street.

The Spring Street parking garage will be accessible from Center Street and Holiday Inn guests will and employees will have access, according to the city.
