Belfast Police and the family of a missing woman are asking for the public’s help in finding her.
Police said Joy MacDonald, 40, has not contacted her family since early September.
Her car, a white Nissan, was found on Pierce Street in Belfast near the town’s footbridge. MacDonald’s sister, Jenny Presley, posted on Facebook to say police spoke with MacDonald on Sept. 9 in a separate incident where she seemed “confused and wandered into someone’s house thinking it was her own.”
“Hello FB world, I desperately need your help. My sister, Joy MacDonald is missing,” Presley wrote on Sunday.
Presley said she and others were looking for MacDonald near the footbridge and rail trail, but on Sunday Presley posted again saying her sister was still missing.
Police urged anyone who has had contact with MacDonald to call Det. Sgt. Matthew Cook at 207-338-2040
