There are 433 new cases of COVID-19 in Maine, and another two people have died of the disease, according to new data from the Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The data, released this morning, shows 433 new cases reported since Tuesday. There are currently 934 deaths, up two from the 932 reported Tuesday. The victims were two women, one in her 70s and another age 80 or older.
The Maine CDC is reporting 150 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, with 66 listed in critical care and 26 on a ventilator.
The seven-day average number of confirmed cases stands at 375. The statewide case rate per 10,000 people is 570.0. The vaccination rate in Maine stands at 71.41%. According to a tweet this morning by Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah, vaccination rates, measured by doses administered per day, are up 30.3% over the past 14 days.
According to the Maine CDC, the total number of cumulative cases statewide as of Wednesday morning stands at 76,289, an increase over the 75,856 reported on Saturday. Of the current case total, state health officials classified 55,023 as confirmed cases, with 21,266 listed as “probable.”
