Dozens of community water systems around Maine will compete for the title of Maine’s Best Tasting Water on Dec. 7 at the Cross Insurance Center Ballroom in Bangor.
The two categories are water with a disinfectant, such as chlorine, and water without a disinfectant.
The final round pits the two categories against each other with the winner awarded Maine’s Best Tasting Water.
The winner will represent Maine in the National Taste Test in Washington, D.C. in February 2024.

Skyline Mobile Home Park in Presque Isle holds the 2023 title of Maine’s Best Tasting Water.
The competition comes during Maine Rural Water Association’s annual conference.
Maine Rural Water Association Executive Director Kirsten Hebert said the competition “is a great opportunity for the industry to come together and celebrate their hard work and dedication to keeping the people of Maine safe and healthy.”
