Three people have been charged in connection with the theft of an ATM, according to the department of public safety.

State police responded to a report of a theft of an ATM from inside Tubby’s Ice Cream on Main Street in Wayne early Thursday morning.

Troopers traced the suspects to a house in Livermore Falls, according to department spokesperson Shannon Moss.

“Discovered with the suspects was a significant amount of the money from inside the ATM,” Moss stated. “The ATM was located in a vacant lot away from the house.”

Joshua Souther, 47, and Jason Reckards, 44, both of Livermore Falls, were arrested and charged with theft, according to Moss.

Brittany Boivin, 37, of Jay was also arrested and charged with obstructing government administration and violation of conditional release, Moss said.

The three were transported to the Androscoggin County Jail.

The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office and Livermore Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation.
