A Westbrook man has been arrested after allegedly threatening a construction crew with a rifle, police say.

Westbrook Police say they learned of a threat at around 10:40 a.m. Friday.

A man had threatened a construction crew on Conant Street and was armed with a rifle, according to a statement from police, and that he had been driving dangerously.

“To mitigate the incident, officers closed the street and surrounded the suspect's residence,” Westbrook police stated. “The suspect was eventually taken into custody by officers.”

Police then seized a rifle and ammunition at the man’s apartment.

Eugene Dunn, 38, of Westbrook is charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, driving to endanger and refusing to submit to arrest.

He was transported to Cumberland County Jail.
