LOS ANGELES – More than 1,000 people woke up to an earthquake that was felt in parts of Los Angeles and Orange County on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit Port Hueneme around 2 a.m. near Santa Cruz Island and Santa Monica.  The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers.

A total of 1,442 people reported that they felt the earthquake.

So far no injuries or damage has been reported.
