LONG BEACH, Calif. — Town halls across the United States have become flashpoints of frustration, as voters in both red and blue states confront lawmakers over sweeping policy changes since President Trump took office.
From immigration to inflation, the issues fueling the anger are varied — but the message from constituents remains consistent: they want to be heard.
Concerns over tariffs and rising inflation have also rattled financial markets, with the stock market continuing its downward slide amid growing economic uncertainty.
In California, Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia will host a town hall Friday evening, fielding questions on a wide range of topics, including immigration policy, recent ICE raids, Social Security and the ongoing controversy dubbed “Signalgate.”
Spectrum News spoke with the Orange County Young Democrats, many of whom said they’re hopeful these conversations will lead to real change.
