The St. Louis Public School Board of Education has terminated the contract of Dr. Keisha Scarlett.
In a press release, the board voted 6-0 to notify Scarlett of its intent to terminate her "for cause." No further explanation was given.
Back in July, an investigation was launched to investigate the district's operations over the past year.
The board said Scarlett has a right to request a hearing before them to contest the decision. If she does, she will remain on administrative leave until the hearing takes place.
Dr. Millicent Borishade has been serving as Acting Superintendent since July 25.
