LAHAINA, Hawaii — Blake Ramelb, like many community organizers on Maui, has been working nonstop since the Lahaina wildfires to help people in his community get the help that they need.
In the immediate aftermath of the fires, people needed sources of power, water and food.
Now, the needs have changed as his concern grows about the air quality and how it’s affecting the health of residents.
The 28-year-old spoke with Spectrum News journalist Michael Tsai in front of his grandmother’s home in Lahainaluna, where he’s helping to distribute face masks, respirators and air purifiers.
