LAHAINA, Hawaii — In the first days after the wildfires ravaged Lahaina town, Napili, an area just outside the main town, was cut off from the rest of the island. Soon, the Kahana Boat Ramp became the center of a supply hub that was built by the community for the community.

Julynn I‘i, the president of the nonprofit Na Leo Kalele and one of the organizers of the supply hub, told Spectrum News journalist Michael Tsai how the people of Napili reached out to their friends and family for help.

She said people came by boat to the ramp to bring staples from Molokai, Oahu and other parts of the island.

Everyone is welcome to get help from their hub, which has received supplies from all over the state and beyond, she said.
