Statehood Day is on Friday. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of the state's 1959 admission to the United States of America. It is always celebrated on the third Friday in August.

City and County of Honolulu
- TheBus will operate on a state holiday schedule. For schedule information, visit thebus.org.
- The Skyline will operate on a state holiday schedule between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Visit honolulu.gov/skyline for details.
- Trash will be collected on Friday.
- Transfer stations, convenience centers, H-POWER and the Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill will all be open on Friday.
- Parks and botanical gardens will be open on Friday.
- Municipal golf courses will be open on Friday. Visit honolulu.gov/des/golf for revised play information.
- All public libraries will be closed on Friday.
- The Honolulu Zoo will be open on Friday.
- The Neal S. Blaisdell Center box office will be closed on Friday.
- The People’s Open Markets will not be held on Friday.
- All satellite city halls and driver licensing centers will be closed on Friday.
- On-street parking will be free on Friday, except for the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Queen Kapiolani Park, metered parking lots and meters on specific Waikiki streets. View the list of Waikiki streets here.
- Traffic will not be coned for contraflow on Tuesday.
- Parking will be restricted in Lanikai over the three-day holiday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kauai County
- County of Kauai offices will be closed on Friday.
- All neighborhood centers will be closed on Friday.
- All refuse transfer stations and the Kekaha landfill will be closed on Friday.
- The Waimea swimming pool will be closed on Friday.
- The Kauai Bus will be operating on its regular schedule.
- The trash schedule will not change.
- The Puhi Metals Recycling Center will be closed on Friday.
- The Reynolds Recycling HI5 redemption center in Lihue will be closed on Friday.
Maui County
- County of Maui offices will be closed on Friday.
- The Central Maui Landfill and EKO Compost Green Waste will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, while the Olowalu Recycling & Refuse Convenience Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.
- The Hana Landfill, Lanai Landfill and Molokai Landfill will all be closed on Friday.
Hawaii County
- County of Hawaii offices will be closed on Friday.
