A lifelong resident of Windward Oahu, Lianne Bidal Thompson has more than 25 years of experience in Hawaii media. She has covered topics ranging from travel, luxury and dining, to culture, personality profiles and community news. She has served as a writer and editor for many publications throughout her career, including This Week Magazines, Modern Luxury Hawaii, HILuxury, Go Kailua, Waikiki Magazine, Ko Olina Magazine and MidWeek.

Lianne has a passion for storytelling — whether she is telling the story or reading it. At any given time, she is in the middle of reading at least two books. She finds people who are living their own passion an inspiration and enjoys showcasing those stories in her work.

A graduate of Castle High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Lianne enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son. Together, the foursome likes to plan their vacations. Requirements: shopping, dining (pubs/breweries are a must), outdoor activities, sports venues and a spa. When she’s not curled up with a book, she likes to head to Kalama Beach or explore Hoomaluhia.
