Some neighbors are cleaning up after flooding rains struck Cortland County. The Virgil Fire Department posted pictures of debris on the roads on its Facebook.

A flash flooding warning was issued for the county on Monday. Doppler radar indicated that two to three inches of rain fell on some areas. A state of emergency was issued in the town of Virgil.

Heavy rain also caused ponding in many areas. Officials say people in the area should take their time driving on the roads, because not all of the debris has been cleared yet.
