Team Blue Planet takes on the waves of the North Shore on a windy Winter Soltice day. Watch as Rober Stehlik, founder of Blue Planet Surf, and fellow wing foilers, Eli Maioho, Derek Hamasaki, Fuzzy Jardine and Glennel Jordan explain how wing foiling works and why so many share the love of this popular sport on “Hawaiian Xtreme Sports TV.”

“It’s really fun because it can be similar to tow foiling, but when you’re towing, you have a partner and there’s a jet ski there’s communication and whatnot,” said Maioho. “But with the wing is just you and yourself … you can pull yourself into the wave again and you let go; you hold on to the wing. When you need more power, you can grab the wing again … when you’re on a jet ski and you’re towing once you let go of the rope, it’s kind of it, you know, you got to get back to the jet ski and restart and whatnot. So it’s a real fun way of tapping into that energy.”

Paddling in at Jaws, bombing the trails or catching 60-foot air on a kiteboard, “Hawaiian Xtreme Sports TV” on Spectrum OC16 runs the gamut of activities that push the limit.
