At long last, it’s the weekend! Below, you’ll find a quick guide — based on information from the MTA — to the biggest planned service changes on the city’s subways and rails.

Subway service changes

3 and 4 trains in the Brooklyn

Between 3:30 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, 3 and 4 trains won't run between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue in either direction due to station work. 

Riders can take free B99 shuttle buses to get to all 3 and 4 stops between the two stations.

3 trains will run between Harlem-148th Street and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue during the day and evening, and 4 trains will run between Woodlawn and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue at all times.

5 trains in the Bronx

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains won't run between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street in either direction due to track replacement.

Riders can take free Bx90 shuttle buses, which will be making all 5 train stops between the two stations.

5 trains will run between East 180th Street and Bowling Green during the day and evening.

A, C and E trains in Manhattan and Queens

Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run on the F line from 2nd Avenue to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue; downtown E trains will run on the F line from 47-50 Streets-Rockefeller Center to 2nd Avenue; and uptown C and A local trains will run express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle due to signal modernization, track replacement and station work.

Downtown A trains, meanwhile, will run local from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street all weekend. 

F and G trains in Brooklyn

Between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, G trains won't run between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue in either direction due to electrical work.

G trains will be running along two routes, according to the MTA:

  • Between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues
  • Between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Hoyt-Schermerhorn every 20 minutes.

Manhattan-bound F trains will run express from Jay Street-MetroTech to Kings Highway.

Between 3:30 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, meanwhile, F trains will not run between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue in either direction due to track replacement.

F trains will run between Jamaica-179th Street and Kings Highway.

J and M trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, J trains won't run between Hewes Street and Broad Street in either direction, and M trains won't run between Myrtle Avenue and Delancey Street-Essex Street in either direction due to track replacement.

Riders can take the J train for service between Myrtle Avenue and Hewes Street.

Riders can also take free B106 shuttle buses for service between Hewes Street and Delancey Street-Essex Street. The buses will stop at Marcy Avenue.

Q trains in Brooklyn

Between 3:30 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m Sunday, Q trains won't run between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue in either direction due to track replacement.

Riders can take free shuttle buses, which will make all Q stops between the two stations.

Q trains will run between 96th Street and Kings Highway every 10 minutes during the day and evening.

1 trains in the Bronx

Between 5:45 a.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Sunday, Manhattan-bound 1 trains will run nonstop from Van Cortlandt Park-241st Street to 215th Street due to track replacement.

Riders can take a Van Cortlandt Park-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

2, 3 and 4 trains in Brooklyn

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, Manhattan-bound 2, 3 and 4 local trains won't stop at Grand Army Plaza due to station work. Riders can take a Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 train or Crown Heights-bound 3 or 4 local train for service to and from that station.

Between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, meanwhile, Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 and Crown Heights-bound 3 and 4 local trains will not stop at Grand Army Plaza due to station work.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound 2, 3 or 4 local train for service to and from the station, or take a train from the Bergen Street or Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum stations.

6 trains in the Bronx

Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound 6 trains will run nonstop from Parkchester to Hunts Point Avenue due to station work.

Riders can take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

7 trains in Queens

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m Monday, Flushing-bound 7 trains will run express from 74th Street-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point due to station work.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from the bypassed stations. All 7 trains will board from the Manhattan-bound platform at Junction Boulevard.

D trains in Manhattan

Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, downtown D trains won't stop at 155th Street due to track maintenance.

Riders can take an uptown train for service to and from that station.

D, N and R trains in Brooklyn

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound R trains and Coney Island-bound D and N local trains will run nonstop between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and 36th Street due to track replacement.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

E, F and R trains in Manhattan

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, Forest Hills-bound R trains and Jamaica-bound E and F local trains won't stop at 67th Avenue due to station work. Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train to and from the station.

Between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, meanwhile, Manhattan-bound R trains and E and F local trains will not stop at 67th Avenue due to station work.

Riders can take a Forest Hills-bound R train or Jamaica-bound E or F local train for service to and from the station.
