GREENSBORO, N.C. – Community members across our state are stepping up to provide medical supplies for frontline workers.

Roy Carroll, Founder and CEO of development company, The Carroll Companies, said once he heard there was a shortage of medical supplies, he and his team wanted to step up to help.

Carroll has a corporate plane sitting idle, so he reached out to Cone Health to offer to fly the jet to China, purchase medical supplies, and then bring them back to the Triad.

He said once the plane takes off, he could have the supplies back within 48 hours.

“Greensboro's our home. You know Cone Health does an excellent job, but they just need supplies to get here so you know it's important to me because it's my hometown,” Carroll emphasized.

Carroll said they have to make sure the aircraft is ready and supplies are available in China. He said they then need permission to be able to land in China.

Carroll is working hard with Cone Health to make this happen as quickly as possible.

To recognize the many donations Cone Health has received from community and members like Carroll, they started "Thank You Thursdays" to celebrate and show their appreciation.

Each Thursday, Cone Health will recognize donors on its social media channels and website.
