At long last, it’s the weekend! Below, you’ll find a quick guide — based on information from the MTA — to the biggest planned service changes on the city’s subways and rails.

Subway service changes

4 and 5 trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan

Between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 4 trains won't run in either direction between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue or New Lots Avenue, and 5 trains won't run in either direction between Grand Central-42nd Street and Bowling Green due to station work. 

4 trains, however, will run local between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, while 5 trains will run every 12 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Grand Central-42nd Street during the day and evening.

Riders can take 4 and 6 trains for service between Grand Central-42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. 

6 trains in the Bronx

Between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 6 trains won't run in either direction between Hunts Point Avenue and 3rd Avenue-138th Street due to track replacement.

Instead, they'll run in two sections: between Pelham Bay Park and Hunts Point Avenue every 12 minutes during the day and evening; and between 3rd Avenue-138th Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall every eight minutes during the day and evening.

Riders can take free shuttle buses to get to all 6 train stops between Hunts Point Avenue and 3rd Avenue-138th Street.

L trains in Manhattan

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, L trains won't run in either direction between 8th Avenue and 14th Street-Union Square due to structural maintenance. 

Riders can take free L92 shuttle buses or the M14 for service between 8th Avenue, 6th Avenue and 14th Street-Union Square.

L trains will run between 14th Street-Union Square and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway every eight minutes during the day and evening.

2 trains in the Bronx

Between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and 12:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sunday, 2 trains will run every 16 minutes between Wakefield-241st Street and East 180th Street due to track replacement. 

East 180th Street will be the last stop for Manhattan-bound 2 trains, according to the MTA. Riders can transfer to a Wakefield-bound train to continue their trip. 

4 trains in the Bronx

Between 5:45 a.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, Woodlawn-bound 4 trains won't stop at Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College or Mosholu Parkway due to track maintenance.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations. 

7 trains in Queens

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Monday, Flushing-bound 7 trains will run express from 74th Street-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point due to station work.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

A and C trains in Brooklyn

Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Euclid Avenue-bound C and Queens-bound A local trains will not stop at Ralph Avenue and Rockaway Avenue due to structural maintenance.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

D, N and R trains in Brooklyn

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound R and Coney Island-bound D and N local trains will run nonstop from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to 36th Street due to track replacement.

Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.

G trains in Brooklyn

​Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, G trains will run express in both directions between Smith-9th Streets and Church Avenue due signal modernization.

Riders can take the F train for service to and from bypassed stations.

J trains in Manhattan

Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, Broad Street-bound J trains won't stop at Fulton Street due to station work. Riders can take a Jamaica Center-bound train for service to and from the station.

And between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, Jamaica Center-bound J trains won't stop at Fulton Street due to station work. Riders can take a Broad Street-bound train for service to and from the station.
