HOUSTON — Houston Fire Department responded to a house fire call in northeast Houston around 2 a.m. on Friday.
Arriving on scene, they found a large horse barn on fire engulfed in flames. According to District Chief Justin Barnes, the barn was fully engulfed in fire when the crew arrived. They found more than 15 horses deceased.
When one of the firefighters went to open the gate, a horse on fire kicked the firefighter. According to Houston Fire Department, no people were injured and the fire was put out by 2:30 a.m.
Houston Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.
