The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is already bracing for the impact of both Formula One and college football fans as a record number of people are expected to travel to Austin this weekend.

On Saturday, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns host the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs in a prime-time matchup between two of the best football programs in the NCAA.

Then, on Sunday, the Circuit of The Americas hosts the U.S. Grand Prix Formula One race. But, the festivities at the track kick off Friday morning with immersive experiences and musical acts, including performances from Sting Friday night and Eminem Saturday night.

The Austin airport posted on X, formerly Twitter, warning travelers to expect some long lines on Sunday and Monday as people head home after the events. This comes after the airport recorded its 10th busiest day in history on Monday–with 37,572 passengers screened through security–as music lovers returned home after the close of the last weekend of ACL.

The airport said it expects even more record-breaking days this weekend, and Georgia even took to X to warn traveling fans to arrive at the airport at least two and a half hours before their flights out of Austin.

Austin hotels and short-term rentals are also reaping the benefits of this weekend’s dual events. A quick Google search found that prices of currently available rooms ranged from just under $300 a night in the Greater Austin area to over $1,000 a night in the heart of downtown.
