If you've seen any rain in your backyard these last few days, consider yourself lucky!  We'll keep a low but noted 20% chance for more seabreeze-type showers in the forecast for now then odds look to ramp up by the end of the week.  As for temperatures, plan for more upper 90s between now and then.

As temperatures will end up very near or right at the 30 year average high of 98, we'll call it seasonably hot.  There's enough humidity to make it feel as hot as 104.

Today's winds will come from the south-southeast, which means we have the flow of Gulf moisture coming up from the coast.  And that might not be all!  Keep an eye on the radar today as coastal showers and expected to make it all the way up to I-10, possibly even to Austin, as we head to the middle of the afternoon.

Yesterday in the CapCity we had a "trace" of rain at both Camp Mabry and the Airport.  For today, our Futurecast model shows brief showers and possibly a few storms, too, which means there could be some lightning out there around 2pm-6pm.  Keep in mind:  if you hear thunder roar, head indoors.  There is no safe place to be outside during a thunderstorm.

As we watch one disturbance move away from us across Mexico, another weak disturbance dives through Louisiana and is nearing the Texas state line.  It's the primary reason for today's rain chance.

Computer models show a weak front stalling out and moving this direction by Friday, and it looks like several rounds of rain will be possible into the upcoming weekend.
