KINGSLAND, Texas – Many Kingsland residents' homes are flooded after waters rose quickly on Tuesday, prompting evacuations.

As the floodwaters approached Kingsland neighborhoods, neighbors helped each other evacuate as the Llano River overflowed. Swift water rescue teams pulled several people to safety.

"This is like floods you only hear about once a lifetime. It's a huge flood," said Burnet County resident Archie Hollingsworth.

The flooding at the Llano River and Lake LBJ intersection caused the Ranch to Market 2900 bridge to collapse. With the bridge now destroyed, drivers have to take a 36-mile detour in and around Kingsland.

Burnet County first responders recovered a body in a yard right along Lake LBJ's swollen banks.
