GATESVILLE, Texas — The Gatesville Police Department on Friday morning reported a second death following an explosion at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville, Texas, on Tuesday.

Thirty-six-year-old Filiberto Morales, of Round Rock, Texas, was working at the hospital construction site when the blast occurred.

Morales was transported to Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He succumbed to his injures at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, police reported. Morales was an employee of Network Controls.

The explosion in Gatesville, which is located about 45 minutes west of Waco, has claimed two lives and injured 14 other people. Engineers are still working to determine what triggered the blast.

The explosion earlier claimed the life of 44-year-old Michael Bruggman, of Rogers, Texas.
