AUSTIN, Texas — Founded in 1982, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin's mission to inspire the conservation of native plants through its gardens, research, education, consulting and outreach programs.
If anybody knows a thing or two about Texas wildflowers, it's them.
Victoria Maranan talks with director of holticulture Andrea DeLong-Amaya to learn some fun wildflower facts, bust myths and find out what we can anticipate for this year's big spring bloom.
The center, at 4801 La Crosse Ave., Austin, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+), $8 Non-UT students (with college ID), $4 for youth (Ages 5-17), and free for children 4 years and younger as well as UT Austin students, faculty and staff (with ID).
