PUERTO RICO - The U.S. Army says Puerto Rico is close to having most of its power restored.

Nearly four months since Hurricane Maria, 40 percent of customers don't have electricity on the island. But officials are confident 95 percent of the power will be back on by March.

"I think we'll see the majority. The problem is that last five percent. You know this again from being a pilot. It's going to be hard to get to some of those (remote) areas by then," said Task Force Power Restoration Commander Col. John Lloyd.

Maria, the category 4 hurricane, hit Puerto Rico in mid-September.

It was the strongest storm to hit the island in 85 years, and left a majority of the island without power or clean water.
