Owning a home has been a part of the American Dream for as long as the nation can remember, but that dream has become more impossible in the past few years.

This year, the median home price in Austin went up to $301,332, which is a five-percent increase from 2016. San Antonio also experienced an increase at $215,500m and it's expected to keep rising.

With more people moving into cities along the I-35 corridor, the housing forecast appears ominous, but one community resource hopes to help change that. Victoria Maranan explains.
