NATIONWIDE — Election Day is today across the nation, and on the ballot statewide, are seven constitutional amendment propositions.
Locally, bond decisions dominate the polls — Voters will weigh in on the Travis County bond, Leander ISD bond, Lake Travis ISD bond, Bastrop ISD bond, and/or Austin ISD bond.
In Hays County, voters will be making decisions on their respective city councils and multiple propositions including the controversial fluoridation of tap water in the county.
Those living in Williamson County are being asked a Hutto Economic Development Corporation funding question.
Where do I vote?
Voting locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters can go to any polling location in the county in which they are registered. Look here for a full list of polling locations here.
What do I bring with me?
Under Senate Bill 14, voters must present one of the following forms of ID to vote:
- Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal ID card issued by DPS
- Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
- U.S. military ID card containing the cardholder’s photograph
- U.S. citizenship certificate containing the cardholder’s photograph
- U.S. passport
The following forms of ID will not be accepted:
- Student ID
- Utility bills
- ID cards issued by employers
- Any ID, other than U.S. citizenship certification, more than 60 days expiredVoters who do not have a valid form of ID can apply for an Election Identification Certificate at no cost at any driver’s license office. The EIC is valid for six years, but any EIC issued to a voter older than age 70 has no expiration date.
