HOUSTON — Almost two months have passed since Hurricane Harvey pounded on Houston and the Texas coast, and Texans have been cleaning up the mess it left behind.

Despite their tireless efforts, there is still a lot of rebuilding work to do.

Cleaning up after a major natural disaster is not easy, especially to those who have lost everything.

The Texas Department of Transportation released how much trash they have collected — So far, they have picked up more than 10 million cubic feet of debris which is about 186 football fields.

Most of the trash was gathered from the hardest hit areas including Corpus Christi and Houston.

On top of helping residents with clean-up, road crews have also been clearing roadways.

TxDOT has sent more than 600 employees to work weekly rotations in those areas to help with debris removal.
