The University of Rochester is going through a time of change, but it’s also an opportunity for the university to set an example.

Richard Feldman, the university’s interim president, posted a letter to the university website to mark the start of the spring semester, saying he hopes for this to be a new chapter for the school.

The former college dean says he will do what he can to help the school thrive until a permanent president can be identified.

He says during this process of rebuilding, he believes The U of R has an opportunity to be a model for other institutions.

While Feldman doesn't take over until March 1st, he was asked to respond to the investigation on behalf of the university.

Feldman was announced as the school's interim president last week after Joel Seligman stepped down following the release of a report into alleged sexual harassment at the university.

He says a detailed plan of action will be developed and made public shortly.
