ROCHESTER, N.Y. – This hasn't been a winning week for Cappelli Sport Stadium. First, the Rochester Rhinos made a public plea seeking financial help to keep professional soccer in the city. Now, there’s an all but certain end to Major League Lacrosse in Rochester.

"We have a pretty unique small city here and losing two teams is a blow,” said the Rattlers former head coach, Tim Soudan.

The Rochester Rattlers are relocating to Dallas.

"You know, in this tenure of the Rattlers being in Rochester, after they left and then came back, I think attendance had been a bit of an issue,” Soudan said.

Soudan took over as the team's head coach in 2011 and since then, he's seen four venue changes and thousands of empty seats, but he won't see the team to Texas.

"Unfortunately I'm not in a position where I can follow them,” said Soudan, who will stay in the area to coach the Fairport High School lacrosse team. “It's just sad for the community that we had some of the best guys that play this game in our back yard and I know a lot of people that probably wanted to take advantage of it and didn't."

When the week started, there were two sports teams that called Capelli Sport Stadium home. Now one is barely hanging on, and the other is gone. That's something Soudan says should be an eye opener for local sports fans.

"If you want to have that opportunity in Rochester, I think it's everybody's responsibility to at least go out and see a baseball game, go out and see a lacrosse game,” said Soudan. “And the bottom line is, if you want these sports teams to stay, you have to support them."
