Serica Hallstead is coming off a personal best season after placing second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the Patriot League Championships.

"We got to Patriots and I threw a new dive and it went really well so that was super exciting, ended up in second after both finals for both my events then went on to zones. Now we're just in the offseason preparing for next year, hoping to get even more new dives, get even better and hopefully work my way up again," said Hallstead.

The Division I athlete also has a packed schedule outside of Athletics.

Back in the spring Hallstead, a pre-med student, missed a microbiology symposium while she was out of town at a meet. After asking her teacher for a copy of the lecture, he presented her with an even better opportunity, the chance to spend four weeks interning at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease.

Hallstead says that the environment at West Point helps her juggle her academics, athletics and military obligations.

"This year is also when I start doing all of my Med School stuff, so start applying, get ready for the MCAT. Got the first few years under my belt and it's only going to go up from here," said Hallstead.
