Pittsford Mendon owns the top seed in Class A1 for the Section V girls basketball tournament.

Last year's state runner up lost four players to graduation, but the Vikings made a seamless transition, finishing 19-1 during the regular season.

"I think the main thing for us is we have a bunch of different players that can score, instead of just having one main person. So that way if one person has a bad night someone else can step up. I think that helps us be successful for most nights," said Sarah Stark, Pittsford Mendon Senior.

"It helps us with different matchups, you know we've got some forwards on the bench that can come in if we got to go a little bigger. We can go small ball lineup and play a lot of guards. So it does give us a lot of flexibility and really the ability to overcome some tough obstacles," said Todd Julien, Pittsford Mendon Head Coach.
