Suicide rates are on the rise in U.S.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 50,000 Americans died by suicide in 2023 — more than any year on record.

Experts say that the key to curbing these statistics is early detection.

Routine screenings at the doctor's office can help save lives, but they are often overlooked when it comes to mental health. Screening for early detection and treatment of mental health conditions in primary care settings can also improve quality of life and help contain health care costs.
