In the Landing of Brighton assisted living facility is a wall full of pictures. They are the brave men and women who served the country.

It’s in a room where one military spouse sits and reflects Veterans Day.

Judy Ellingsworth says her husband Dale served as a U.S. Marine for two decades.

He is a disabled vet residing in an old soldiers' home (a military veteran's retirement home, nursing home, or hospital) in Buffalo.

Judy describes her husband in three words; quite determined, faithful. She also states he is full of surprises.

“I would go to reunions and I’ve had people come up and say 'I wanted to congratulate you on your husband because he saved my life,'" Judy said. "That chills you right to your bones, but then he never told me that. He’s one of the men that didn’t discuss the war.”

Judy says Veterans Day is a tradition that must continue because without it, many Americans would forget them and the sacrifices they made.
