One victim in Monday’s double homicide in Hamlin has been identified.

The family of 20-year-old Alexander Allen Cease Burrow said the county medical examiner’s office confirmed to them that his body was one of two found dead inside a burned-out car in Hamlin Monday morning.

They are pleading for anyone with information about his death to come forward.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office found a burned car at a private storage company off King Street in Hamlin, with two charred bodies inside.

This afternoon they released that the car was a red four-door Ford Focus sedan.

Deputies have made contact with the registered owner of the car, who they say is cooperating.

The sheriff’s office has not confirmed the identity of either victim, but Burrow’s family said the medical examiner released the identity to them.

A tipline has been set up at 585-753-4175. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, like Burrow’s family, is asking anyone with information, or who may have seen or heard anything, to call that line or 911.

They believe there is no current threat to the community and that this crime was an isolated incident.
