Day one of the Park Ave Art Festival is in the books!

Despite a quick shower, most of the day was filled with plenty of sunshine.

Thousands journeyed up and down Park Avenue where they had the opportunity to shop at dozens of vendors and grab some grub from a variety of food trucks.

The festival is one of the biggest events of the year in Rochester. Those who go each year say there's something special about Park Ave.

"It is just the people,” said Shane Prince of Irondequoit. “I think it's just the good vibe, good energy. People that live around here come down here looking for a good time and just hang out with their friends and meet up with people and see them after a long week. An event like this is nice for everyone to get out and meet up with one another."

The Park Ave Fest continues Sunday from 10 to 5.
