ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Cadillac Hotel in downtown Rochester has postponed its closing date.

Groups rallied in support of the people who live in the hotel, after the owners announced they planned to close for renovations last friday.

While the building is in need of repairs, it's a place many low income residents call home.

The owners say they decided to postpone renovation work by two weeks to help people who are still working to find a new place to stay.

The hotel is now scheduled to close June 8th for repairs and for what the owners call an overdue renovation.
