Republican members of the Monroe County Legislature are asking the Office of Public Integrity to investigate the office of County Clerk Adam Bello for allegedly mishandling personal data.

The call for an investigation follows reports that documents containing personal information such as names, addresses and social security numbers were found in dumpsters outside of local Department of Motor Vehicles locations managed by Bello.

Personal information was allegedly found behind DMV locations in Henrietta and Irondequoit.

The report states that among the recovered documents were driver's license information, homeland security information and paperwork identifying undercover police vehicles in Monroe County.

The lawmakers asked for a report from County Clerk Adam Bello, a Democrat, about the possible data breach.
