BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Lake George held off a late rally by Northstar Christian and hung on for a 66-65 win for the Class C boys basketball state championship Saturday night in Binghamton.

The Warriors capped off an undefeated season with a balanced scoring attack, led by Caleb Scrime with 20 points.

Lake George [Section II] jumped out to a 40-25 halftime lead thanks to hot shooting from three-point land, and they kept the Knights at bay in the third quarter with strong inside play by senior Chris Becker, who finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

With about four minutes to play, Northstar Christian (Section V) trailed by 14, but closed the gap to three points with 1:21 left to play. Up by a two with 14 seconds left, a deep pass to Scrime who made a layup sealed the win for Lake George.

Northstar Christian’s Miles Brown led the comeback with a game-high 25 points.
