ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- An eight point plan to better protect local kids is taking shape in Monroe County.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo (R) says the plan will give caseworkers better technology and training so they can be more effective.

One of the points of her plan is to reinstate the local hotline people can reach out to for help.

Dinolfo expects it to be ready once a few remaining details are worked out.

The plan also calls for more workers to ease the caseload.

"Under that eight point plan will be adding an additional 30 case workers," Dinolfo said. "We're looking at increased pay for our caseworkers. The hotline that will be locally operated to certainly help with the connectivity between our community and our children and caseworkers as well."
