Victor hockey is back at full strength with goalie Chayse Ierlan back in the nets for his senior season.

A three-time state champion goalie in lacrosse for the Blue Devils, Ierlan was injured last year before hockey season and sat out his junior year. Already commited to playing at lacrosse at Cornell, Ierlan could have skipped his senior season but that's not his style.

Not only is he one of the top netminders in the section, his leadership skills on and off the ice and lacrosse field have been lauded by coaches and teammates. He and hockey co-captian Mitch Rydzynski have helped organize a Teddy Bear toss for their opener at the Polisseni Center on Saturday. After Victor scores their first goal, fans are encouraged to throw stuffed animals on to the ice, which will be collected and given to the Golisano Children's Hospital's Burn Unit.

With 11 seniors, Victor hockey is not only experienced but a very cohesive unit, part of the reason Ierlan couldn't wait to get back and play.
